Habits are so hard to change!!
I disagree with the 30-day rule. I could do something every single day for a year, stop for 3 days and forget I ever did it.
One thing I do to make it easier? I attach a new habit to an old one. Need to drink more water? Grab a new glass every single time you go into a meeting at work. Need to do more steps? Walk to the furthest bathroom every time and do a few laps before you get to pee!! You will learn to walk fast....

We only have so much of it; if your calendar is full don't add to it!
Protect yourself by putting time limits on your meetings, visits, errands, etc. (tip: put on timers if you are known for going over!). Ensure that you plan for the things and people you love, including yourself.
If you are overwhelmed and insanely busy, blocking out time for ALL things in your life is a good way to keep balanced. Block out time to read that romance novel, block out time to have lunch by yourself at a restaurant, or to work "on" your business.
Think about where you want to spend your time, block it out, set a timer, and go!

Most people have NO idea how to grieve or even the fact that we need to grieve more than just the death of a person! Some of the most powerful grieving I have walked clients through was “pre” grieving someone with cancer, death of a dream, loss of a marriage, loss of their freedom, death of their innocence.

It doesn’t mean we have to buy into it. NONE of it!!! One rule of thumb I use? If I would not trade lives with them in that area, I refuse to take their advice there. Think about this the next time you take someone's words to heart.

4. I wanted 4 kids. Chloe Dawn would have been one of my daughters. She was going to have my husband's red hair and massive dimples. Man was she going to be feisty.
But then life happened and it wasn’t a thing.
I fought this for YEARS and felt like a failure until I shifted how I looked at it.
Sometimes things in life show up in ways we can’t see because we are so busy focusing on the outcome.. we are demanding instead just allowing the outcome that is.
Now? I am the “mom” to everyone in my life. And I love it so much. I don’t think I could do what I do if I had kids. And I wouldn’t change it for anything. Do you have anything that has shown up different than you expected?

Did you know that we have complete control over our brains? We do. We have full control. So, the minute your brain starts to shift to a negative space, you must ask yourself, "what about this could turn into something good? What are the positives?" Ask yourself what is working right now, and then what needs to be done to change things.
There is always a way to shift. It is key to figure out what you cannot adjust and what you can. This stuff can keep us awake at night. So, if your mind is too full and you can't go to sleep, write down all you worries on a piece of paper, then put them in a "worry-later box" (yes, a literal box) before going to bed.
The reason why we play things over and over in our head is because we haven't done anything with it. Our brain replays them constantly, so we don't forget.
Writing things out gives our brain an opportunity to feel things are dealt with and we can move on to something else.

We used to have water fights with my cousins. We would fill buckets and put them all over the yard, choose a starting point and then run like crazy and drench each other!! When everything was empty? We would fill them all again and go. Still smile thinking of that one..

Someone recently made the snippy comment that it must be nice to live my perfect life and I laughed out loud!!! Nope. It is no where near perfect. But I choose where I put my energy and complaining? Just isn't one of them.

"Do you think you would be doing this if your mom was alive?" I was asked this a few weeks ago and it has taken some processing but the answer? No. I would most likely be dead.
And no that is not being dramatic. I would not be here. I could not process my emotions/hurt/trauma while I was working in that relationship and with her emotions and trauma on top of it all. I was drowning.

I had to cook a meal every single day. This was a belief that I held for YEARS of my marriage. 23 of them to be exact.
Until one day last year when I was stressing out and feeling overwhelmed and my husband said "you do know I have NO expectations of you when it comes to food, right?" and I was honestly SO MAD.
I made me so frustrated that I had created these expectations on myself that I didn't need to and that day? things changed. It stopped the pressure. I cook when I want to. We eat a LOT of leftovers and I can breathe.
